About Ivo

This website is about the photography and cinematography of Ivo Kalushev, a Bulgarian born adventurer, cave explorer and spiritual teacher.

Ivo started his photographic career after graduating art photography and cinematography in New York in 1991 and his work spans nearly three decades. He has documented the transition from communism in Eastern Europe, as well as his own unconventional life.

From following the Buddhist life in the Himalayan regions of India, Nepal and Bhutan, to sailing the Atlantic and the Caribbean to being at the pinnacle of underwater cave exploration in the Yucatan, on these pages you will see a very small excerpt of some truly unique photography. Enjoy!
